Crack Pie by LA Times Daily Dish
The Los Angeles food blogging community is one of the most creative, talented, and perhaps more importantly, most generous groups of people we know. Last weekend we participated in the Eat My Blog bake sale where a whopping $5,427 (100% of sales) was raised to benefited the LA County Food Bank. The vast majority of baked goods were donated by bloggers who have posted the recipes on their blog in the past--thus allowing readers to eat their blog..hence the name. But it's really, it's just a really fancy bake sale. Here's just a few of great bites from the hundreds of goodies that day:
One of the most popular bites bacon wrapped bread sticks. Home cured bacon by My Life as a Foodie and lovingly baked by My Last Bite. How can you resist this in the morning?
Salted caramel chocolate bars by Kitchen Runway. Everything was so lovingly wrapped and packaged.
Grapefruit Curd Tulips by Burning Pasta
Amazing and adorable Sleeping Baby Cupcakes by Just Jenn Recipes
Here's Kim eating someone's blog.
We contributed our Che Xoi Nuoc (Mochi Dumplings in Ginger Sauce)--Like the sticker?
This semiannual event is the brain child of our friend Cathy of Gastronomy but couldn't have happened without the help of planning committee Diana Takes a Bite, G-Ma's Bakery, Delicious Coma and all the generous bloggers and voracious appetite of readers of greater Los Angeles area. If you haven't participated by baking or eating, be on the look out for the next Eat My Blog!
Gorgeous photos! Everything looks delicious - this year I sent baked goods to Cathy but next time I'll have to make the trip up from OC and do some shopping, too!
